We, at Vortex Healing Centre, care about your privacy. We collect only the personal information we need to look after you and deliver our products and services, and we handle it with care and respect.

This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how you can access or correct your information. We follow the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

What information we collect

Information you give us – When you buy from our shop or book a session or tour: your name, email, phone number, billing and delivery address, and order details. – When you join our email list or request a free guide (such as the Crystals for Sleep guide): your name and email address. – When you contact us, leave a comment, or create an account on our site: the details you choose to share.

Payment details. Payments are processed by PayPal and Square (including card payments through PayPal) We do not see or store your full card details.

Information collected automatically – Your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and how you arrived at our site, collected through cookies, pixels and server logs. – When you leave a comment, the comment form data plus your IP address and browser user agent, to help detect spam.

How we use your information

To process and deliver your orders, bookings and tours.
To reply to your questions and provide customer support.
To send you emails you have signed up for, such as our newsletter and free guides.
To understand how our website is used so we can improve it.
To show our products on Facebook, Instagram and Google, and to measure and improve our advertising.
To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

Marketing emails

If you join our email list or download a free guide, we will send you emails about meditations, events, products and offers. Our email list is managed by GetResponse. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us at support@vortexhealingcentre.com to be removed at any time.

Cookies, pixels and advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels) to make our site work, remember your cart and preferences, understand how visitors use the site, and support our advertising.

We use: – Google Analytics (through Google Site Kit) and ExactMetrics to understand site traffic. – Meta Pixel (through Meta for WooCommerce) to measure our Facebook and Instagram ads and to sync our product catalogue to our Facebook and Instagram shop. – Google for WooCommerce to list our products on Google and measure Google ads.

These tools mean we may use targeted advertising and remarketing. For example, after you visit our site you may see ads for Vortex Healing Centre on Facebook, Instagram or Google.

You can manage this by: – changing your browser settings to block or delete cookies (some parts of the site, such as the cart, may then not work properly); – adjusting your ad preferences in your Facebook, Instagram and Google account settings; – using Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).

WordPress cookies. If you leave a comment, you may choose to save your name, email and website in cookies for one year. If you log in, we set cookies to save your login (two days, or two weeks with “Remember Me”) and screen options (one year).

Embedded content and comments

Some pages include embedded content, such as our podcast player (Libsyn) and YouTube videos. Embedded content behaves as if you visited that other website, which may collect data about you, use cookies, and track your interaction, especially if you are logged in to that service.

When you comment, an anonymised string made from your email address (a hash) may be sent to Gravatar to check whether you have a profile picture. Gravatar’s privacy policy: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Approved comments, with your name and picture, are public.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where needed to run our business, with: – payment processors (PayPal) to take payment; – postal and courier services to deliver your orders; – service providers who help run our website, shop, email list, analytics and advertising (including WordPress/WooCommerce plugins such as Elementor, WPCode and Yoast SEO, GetResponse, Meta, Google, Libsyn and YouTube) WPX.net hosting; – authorities where the law requires it.

Overseas disclosure

Many of our service providers, including PayPal, GetResponse, Meta, Google, Libsyn, YouTube and Automattic (Gravatar), are based in or store data in the United States and other countries. By using our site you understand your information may be stored or processed overseas. We choose reputable providers, but overseas providers may not be bound by the Australian Privacy Principles in the same way.

Keeping your information safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including secure (HTTPS) connections, trusted payment providers, and limiting access to people who need it. No internet transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as required by law (for example, tax records are generally kept for 5 years). After that we delete or de-identify it.

Children

Our website and shop are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 without a parent or guardian’s consent. If you think a child has given us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing support@vortexhealingcentre.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you have an account, you can also update your details by logging in.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first at support@vortexhealingcentre.com or +61 418 515 419, and we will try to resolve it within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.

Visitors from the United States and elsewhere

We are an Australian business and this policy is based on Australian law. If you visit from the United States or another country, you may have additional rights under your local laws, and we are happy to help with any request about your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
